台风攻击潜艇是苏联海军的主要战力，可以在海里快速移动，用鱼雷伏击任何敌人，快速地击沉它们，然后在几秒钟内潜回海中。尽管他们是世界上最危险的杀手之一，但他们不能攻击陆上目标。且由于其舰身较长，转向会有些困难。
